The short version
HubSpot Marketing Hub has shipped native account-based marketing tools since 2020: target-account flagging, ICP tier properties, buying-role properties on contacts, a target-accounts home with account-level engagement, prospects (company-level website visitor identification), ABM workflow templates, ad audiences built from company lists, and account-based reporting. They are available on Marketing Hub Professional ($800 per month list) and Enterprise ($3,600 per month list), and on Sales Hub Professional and Enterprise. What HubSpot does not do natively is third-party intent at scale, account-targeted display advertising, predictive account scoring across your whole market, or person-level ad targeting. That is what the add-ons in the HubSpot App Marketplace do: RollWorks, 6sense, Demandbase, Terminus, Metadata.io (this site's sponsor), Influ2, Bombora, ZoomInfo and Mutiny all integrate.
The honest summary: HubSpot's native tools are enough to run a 1:few program of a few hundred accounts if sales lives in HubSpot and your ads run on LinkedIn. Add an app when you need intent data to find active accounts, display or multi-channel ad execution against the list, or orchestration that fires sales tasks from off-site signals.
HubSpot's native ABM features
HubSpot documents its ABM feature set in the Knowledge Base and on the account-based marketing product page. The table lists each capability, where it lives and the minimum tier. Marketing Hub Starter and the free CRM do not include the ABM tools.
| Feature | What it does | Minimum tier | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Target account property | Flags a company record as a target account; drives the target-accounts home, lists, workflows and reports | Marketing Hub or Sales Hub Professional | Set manually, by workflow, by import, or by AI-recommended target accounts |
| Ideal customer profile tier | Company property (Tier 1, 2, 3) for tiering the list; HubSpot can recommend tiers based on closed-won history | Professional | Maps directly to 1:1 / 1:few / 1:many tiering |
| Buying role | Contact property with roles such as decision maker, budget holder, champion, blocker, influencer, legal and compliance, end user, executive sponsor | Professional | The basis for buying-group coverage reporting |
| Target accounts home | A dashboard of target accounts with engagement, open deals, contacts by buying role, last touch and recommended actions | Professional | The closest thing to a platform "account view" inside HubSpot |
| Prospects tool | Identifies companies visiting your website by reverse IP lookup; can be filtered and added as target accounts | Professional | Company-level only; no contact-level identification |
| ABM workflow templates | Pre-built workflows for assigning target accounts, alerting owners when target-account contacts engage, and updating ICP tiers | Professional | Sales tasks and Slack notifications can be triggered from CRM engagement |
| Company lists for ads | Build ad audiences from company lists and sync them to LinkedIn (company targeting), Google and Meta (contact-based audiences) | Professional | LinkedIn company-list targeting is the one true account-targeted channel available natively |
| Account-based reports and dashboards | Pre-built reports: target accounts by ICP tier, engagement by buying role, deals in target accounts, company-level engagement over time | Professional (multi-touch revenue attribution at Enterprise) | Enterprise adds multi-touch attribution, custom objects and sandboxes |
| Breeze Intelligence buyer intent | Identifies companies showing intent on your site, enriches company and contact records, credit-based | Add-on credits (any Professional or Enterprise tier) | First-party intent only; not a third-party intent cooperative like Bombora |
| LinkedIn Sales Navigator integration | Surfaces Sales Navigator insights on contact and company records | Sales Hub Professional | Requires a Sales Navigator license |
What native HubSpot ABM does well
Three things. First, the account model lives in the CRM that sales already uses, so the target list, tiers and buying roles are visible on the records sales reps open every day; no sync, no separate login. Second, the workflow engine can act on CRM engagement (a target-account contact opens a sequence email, visits pricing, submits a form) and create tasks, notifications and list membership without a platform. Third, the reporting shows target-account engagement by buying role and deals in target accounts out of the box, which is enough to run the coverage and engagement layers of the measurement model on the ABM metrics page.
What it does not do
| Gap | Why it matters | Add-ons that fill it |
|---|---|---|
| Third-party intent data | Prospects and Breeze Intelligence only see accounts already on your site; you cannot find accounts researching the category elsewhere | Bombora, 6sense, Demandbase, ZoomInfo, G2 Buyer Intent, RollWorks (bundles Bombora) |
| Account-targeted display and multi-channel ad execution | Native ad audiences reach LinkedIn by company; display, CTV and programmatic account targeting are not available | RollWorks, Demandbase, 6sense, Terminus, Metadata.io (sponsor), Madison Logic |
| Predictive account scoring across the market | ICP tiers are rules-based; there is no model predicting which of 50,000 fit accounts will buy this quarter | 6sense, Demandbase, ZoomInfo |
| Person-level ad targeting | Ads to named buying-group members who have not engaged require a person-based ad platform | Influ2 |
| Web personalization by account | HubSpot smart content personalizes by list membership and known-contact properties, not by anonymous account | Mutiny, Demandbase |
| Cross-channel account-level attribution | Multi-touch attribution (Enterprise) covers HubSpot-tracked touches; off-platform ad impressions to anonymous accounts are not attributed | Metadata.io (sponsor), RollWorks, 6sense, Demandbase |
ABM add-ons for HubSpot compared
Every vendor below has a listed integration in the HubSpot App Marketplace. The table summarizes what each app adds, how it syncs, what tier of HubSpot it needs and how its pricing is published. G2 ratings are the current product-page figures and are linked in the sources; Metadata.io is disclosed as this site's sponsor and is never rated above its G2 score.
| Add-on | Adds to HubSpot | Integration direction | HubSpot tier needed | Pricing | G2 rating |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| RollWorks | Account identification, Bombora intent, account-targeted display and LinkedIn ads, account journey stages, "ABM for HubSpot" reporting | Bidirectional: pulls company lists and deals, pushes engagement, journey stage and intent to company records | Professional recommended; works with any paid tier | Free Starter tier; published paid tiers on the RollWorks pricing page; upper tiers quoted | 4.3 |
| 6sense | Predictive account scoring (6QA), third-party intent, keyword research signals, display and LinkedIn advertising, sales intelligence | Bidirectional: pushes 6sense segments, buying stage and intent to company and contact records; reads HubSpot activity for scoring | Professional or Enterprise | Not published; sales-quoted (see pricing) | 4.3 |
| Demandbase One | Account identification, intent, B2B DSP advertising, web personalization, journey orchestration, sales intelligence | Bidirectional: syncs accounts, engagement and journey stages; can trigger HubSpot workflows | Professional or Enterprise | Not published; sales-quoted | 4.4 |
| Terminus | Account-targeted display, LinkedIn, email signature ads, chat, web personalization; account engagement scoring | Bidirectional: reads company lists and deals, writes engagement and ad exposure | Professional or Enterprise | Not published; sales-quoted | 4.4 |
| Metadata.io (sponsor) | AI-agent execution of account-targeted campaigns on LinkedIn, Meta, Google, display and CTV; audience building from HubSpot lists; lead enrichment and CRM attribution | Bidirectional: reads company and contact lists for audiences and suppression, writes ad-sourced leads and campaign attribution to HubSpot | Professional or Enterprise (uses lists and attribution) | Not published; sales-quoted; media passed through to ad platforms | 4.6 |
| Influ2 | Person-based ads to named contacts on LinkedIn, Meta and display; person-level engagement data | Bidirectional: reads contact lists, writes per-person ad engagement to contact records | Professional or Enterprise | Not published; sales-quoted by contact volume | 4.6 |
| Bombora | Company Surge third-party intent topics on company records; intent-based lists and workflows | One-way into HubSpot: writes topic surge scores to company properties | Professional (needs custom properties and workflows) | Not published; sales-quoted by topics and accounts | 4.5 |
| ZoomInfo | Contact and company enrichment, intent, WebSights visitor identification, ad audiences | Bidirectional: enriches records, pushes intent and visitor data | Any paid tier for enrichment; Professional for workflows | Not published; sales-quoted | 4.5 |
| Mutiny | Account-level website personalization and 1:1 microsites using HubSpot lists and properties | Reads HubSpot lists for audience definition; writes engagement events | Professional or Enterprise | Not published; sales-quoted | 4.4 |
Two integration details matter more than the feature lists. First, most apps write to custom company properties, so budget RevOps time to model them (intent score, journey stage, ad exposure) and to build workflows on them; the app alone does not make sales act. Second, check whether the app respects HubSpot's marketing-contact tiers; syncing thousands of ad-sourced contacts into HubSpot as marketing contacts can raise your HubSpot bill faster than the app's own price.
Three HubSpot ABM stacks, by budget
| Stack | Components | What it can run | Approximate software cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Native only | Marketing Hub Professional, Sales Hub Professional, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Breeze Intelligence credits | 1:few program of 50â300 accounts; LinkedIn company-list ads; CRM-triggered sales alerts; buying-role coverage reporting | From roughly $800â$1,700/month for Marketing Hub Professional plus seats, plus media |
| Native plus execution | Marketing Hub Professional, plus RollWorks or Metadata.io (sponsor) for account-targeted ads, plus Bombora or G2 intent | 1:many across 1,000+ accounts plus 1:few; display and multi-channel ads on the list; intent-triggered plays | HubSpot plus $20Kâ$100K/year for the add-ons (see pricing), plus media |
| Native plus suite | Marketing Hub Enterprise, plus 6sense or Demandbase One with advertising | Full tiered program with predictive scoring, orchestration and a second attribution model; 1:1 support with Influ2 or Mutiny added | HubSpot Enterprise from $3,600/month plus a sales-quoted suite, typically six figures per year, plus media |
The middle stack is what most HubSpot-native companies between 100 and 1,000 employees end up with, and it is the configuration our sister site bestabmsoftware.com covers on its HubSpot-integration ranking. Buyers weighing a suite against a composed stack should read Demandbase vs RollWorks, which is the most common HubSpot-side decision.
Setting up ABM in HubSpot: the order of operations
- Turn on the target-accounts tool (Marketing or Sales Hub Professional). HubSpot's Knowledge Base walks through enabling it and the ICP-tier recommendations.
- Build the target account list. Import or filter companies, set the target-account property, and assign ICP tiers 1 through 3. Get sales sign-off before step 3; the list is the program (see account selection).
- Assign buying roles. For Tier 1 and 2 accounts, set the buying-role property on known contacts and identify missing roles. Enrich from ZoomInfo, Clay or Vector where gaps exist.
- Install the ABM workflow templates. Owner alerts on target-account engagement, automatic tier updates, task creation on pricing-page visits.
- Sync company lists to LinkedIn. Native ad audiences by company list; add RollWorks or Metadata.io if you need display, Meta, Google or CTV against the list.
- Add intent last. Breeze Intelligence for first-party, Bombora or a suite for third-party; write it to a company property and build a workflow that alerts sales within 24 hours.
- Build the reports. Target accounts by tier, engagement by buying role, deals in target accounts, and a held-back control group of fit accounts without target-account status.
Our verdict
If your sales team lives in HubSpot, run the first ABM program on the native tools plus LinkedIn and prove engagement and pipeline lift before buying anything else. Add RollWorks or Metadata.io when ad reach across the list is the constraint, add Bombora or a suite when finding active accounts is the constraint, and add Influ2 or Mutiny only for a Tier 1 program with named buying groups. Do not buy a suite to replace HubSpot's account model; buy it to feed the account model with signals HubSpot cannot see.

Frequently asked questions
Does HubSpot have account-based marketing tools?
Yes. Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise (and Sales Hub Professional and Enterprise) include target-account flagging, ICP tier and buying-role properties, a target-accounts home, the Prospects visitor-identification tool, ABM workflow templates, company-list ad audiences and account-based reports. Starter and the free CRM do not include them.
Which HubSpot tier do I need for ABM?
Marketing Hub Professional ($800 per month list) or Sales Hub Professional for the core ABM tools. Marketing Hub Enterprise ($3,600 per month list) adds multi-touch revenue attribution, custom objects and sandboxes.
Can HubSpot do ABM without an add-on?
For a 1:few program of a few hundred accounts with LinkedIn company-list ads and CRM-triggered sales alerts, yes. You will not get third-party intent, account-targeted display, predictive scoring or person-level ads without an app.
What is the best ABM add-on for HubSpot?
It depends on the gap. RollWorks and Metadata.io (this site's sponsor) add account-targeted ad execution; 6sense and Demandbase add predictive scoring, intent and orchestration; Bombora adds third-party intent; Influ2 adds person-level ads; Mutiny adds web personalization. All are in the HubSpot App Marketplace.
Does HubSpot have intent data?
HubSpot's Breeze Intelligence identifies companies showing intent on your own website and enriches records on a credit basis. It is first-party intent. Third-party intent (research happening across the web) requires Bombora, 6sense, Demandbase, ZoomInfo or G2 Buyer Intent.
Does RollWorks integrate with HubSpot?
Yes. RollWorks has a bidirectional HubSpot integration that reads company lists and deals, pushes account journey stage, intent and engagement to company records, and provides ABM reporting inside HubSpot. It bundles Bombora intent and has a free Starter tier.
How does Metadata.io work with HubSpot?
Metadata.io reads HubSpot company and contact lists to build and suppress ad audiences across LinkedIn, Meta, Google, display and CTV, then writes ad-sourced leads and campaign attribution back to HubSpot. Metadata.io is this site's sponsor; pricing is sales-quoted.
